Today a random teacher talked about Obama’s address yesterday. He said that it was the first time that he heard a president talk about education in the past 8 years. That is not true, one of Bush’s major issues was education, to say something like that shows complete ignorance. Also at one point a kid started talking about Obama’s recent dealings with Gaza. The teacher’s reaction was very odd he passionately argued that Obama would never give anything to Hamas and refused to believe what Obama is currently doing even when showed news stories about in the New York Times.
My teacher’s reaction is kind of scary, if he represents the average American then his lack on knowledge of what is happening and his blind faith in Obama makes me really scared for the future.
Additionally it is completely inappropriate for a non-humanities teacher to talk about politics in class.

Agreed. I am always appalled when my 11 year old sister comes home and tells me the political rhetoric her teachers are interjecting into the lesson plans at her public school. It’s inappropriate.

Was this a Milken teacher?? I think its stupid for teachers to talk politics as well…however, Bush did nothing for education nate…and you should know this.
He enforced the program no child left behind, search that in google and see how brilliant it was.
Also, he funded abstinence only education. This has resulted in higher pregnancy rates and STD rates. So its foolish to remark that Bush cared about education when in fact he helped to destroy it for quite some time. Now, Obama is now miracle worker but at least hes cutting the abstinence only program found in public schools and installing one that teaches comprehensive sex ed, like the one at Milken.

Hey, I never said that Bush did anything good for education, I just pointed out how the person was wrong when they said that Bush never talked about education.
